Many fantastic places to explore around Pips Cottage without having to go far at all. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the road and a train station 1.5 miles away so you don't even have to get back into the car if you would prefer!  

East Anglian Transport Museum A vintage vehicle experience just a short drive from Pips Cottage! A great place to spend time exploring these fantastically preserved vehicles. You can even take a trip out and about. A day out not just for kiddies! 

Africa Alive A Day of Adventure with nature and fun awaits! Easily a day spent here, a delightful destination where you can explore a variety of animals, birds, and reptiles. Whether you're travelling solo or with family, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Hop aboard the charming train ride that winds around the zoo & encounter wildlife along the way. When it's time to relax and refuel, a coffee shop, restaurant and picnic areas are all to hand. A great day for exhilarating encounters with wildlife & the great outdoors. 

Carlton Marshes Nature reserve of a 1000 acres. Perfect for bird watching, home to one the largest population of wading birds in the East of England. Fab walks around the reserve, with guide maps available. Tea room to recharge and great kiddies play area. Picnic area also. 

Pakefield Riding School How about horse riding on the beach or in the woods, spending the day horse riding with an experience day or a pony morning.  All of these activities and more can be done at Pakefield Riding School.  See the horses come past Pips Cottage every day on their way to the beach.

Explore the stunning coastline, enjoy a relaxing day at the beach, and experience all that Pakefield has to offer. Don't miss the First Light Festival held every year in June, a great music event held on the beach. Also check out  East Point Pavilion many events taking place throughout the year, music, farmers markets & workshops.

Don't forget to treat yourself while on the sea front to delightful coffee and snacks at local favourites like Zacks, known for their irresistible donuts, or Deans Beans, which serves exceptional coffee to fuel your adventures. 

Seagull Theatre  A local theatre (two minute walk up the road!) run by volunteers.  Fabulous little place, showing films, events and shows.

Ferini Art Gallery just at the bottom of the road. Specialising in displaying local artist work.  A must visit for art lovers and those who may want to take that special something home.

Lowestoft Museum, set in the grounds of Nicholas Everitt Park, housed in a grade II listed building, displaying and preserving historical items relating to our area and is best known for its collection of 18th-century Lowestoft Porcelain
